Being put back on xanax again fourth time in my life

Ok i woke up this morning feeling awful after doing pretty good Was took off klonopin aug 8 and put on ativan,,well i feel physically ill i also took 250 mg of depokte last night,,,called dr he said stop the ativan and try xanax again.After tapering off it since april..well for 17 years it worked good for me but this year has been differnt im willing to try but im afraaid i might be allergic to it the lat time i took one on aug 7(with drs permission my throat got itchy and my hands went numb but so far i have taken two .05 mg today and no itchythroat or numb hands But about an hour after taken it my heartrate goes up,,and my blood pressure goes down i remember it did this to me before,i have awful headache but woke up at midnight last nigh and i have laid around all day but could not fall alsleep,Im also very dizzy..would going back on xanax make me dizzy,I waas doing so much better i dont know what happened im conserned maybe my body is rejecting benzos is that possible...ot can they build up in my body and beccome toxic and could they slowly be making me physically ill,,,,my dr has no answers other than he dont think im allergic to it since i was on it 17 years and he didnt seem to think i will have withdrawls from the ativan,,,anyone out there with lots of XANAX exxperience? Thanks

Hi how long were you on ativan? you should never stop benzoes quickly, please send message back to let me know.

i've been on and off it 3 times and i've never had the itchy throat or numb hands. i do know that's it's pretty sedating when you first take it. maybe start on the .25mgs at first and see how that goes. alot of drs. don't like to use this med long term but i've been on it as long as 9 years with no increase in dosage. it really helps my anxiety. so all i can say is try the .25mgs. .50mgs may have been to high for you to start back on. take care. remar
