Celexa and Vertigo

I have been off Celexa x 35 days, my hx panic disorder x 20 yrs. came off all meds 1/1/12 then had some family issues and back on Celexa, last panic attact x 2 yrs ago, I do CBT every week with one of the best Dr in San Diego.

My question is I have experienced Vertigo in the past but now that i am off Celexa (10mg) for the last 35 days I am feeling the vertigo more? I read a paper that Celexa helps vertigo. anyone experience this? I may have to get back on Celexa and not for Panic or Anxiety but for the vertigo that started 3 days ago.

Assuming you have vertigo and it's not a symptom of anxiety attacks, which it very often is, there are gentler methods of treating it than an antidepressant you have to take all the time and that is hard to stop taking.  Ginger is a natural remedy that helps many with this problem, and there are drugs such as antivert you only need to take as needed.  The question here is, why do you have vertigo?  And also keep in mind that one of the foremost complaints upon quitting antidepressants as a withdrawal symptom is vertigo, so there's that possibility as well, though you say you felt it previously.  If it is a symptom of your anxiety, and it was for me, then you should mention this to your CBT therapist and work on it with breathing exercises.  Good luck.
