Since they have ruled out other causes it's time to "accept" that your symptoms are anxiety related and address the anxiety. Drinking makes anxiety worse....something to think about. Also, exercise is great for anxiety and depression.....even if you just walk, but increase how far you walk little by little. The more you worry and obcess over it being your heart, the stronger your anxiety gets...it feeds off our worries and fears. Also let your doctor know that you are still having symptoms and see if he feels therapy or a change in medication would help. You're still young and can turn all of this around, and I know you can! Smoking is very bad for your cardiovascular system, and if you could see what my husband is enduring as a result of smoking (he quit 32 years ago) you'd never light up another one. But it's one thing.....one day at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself with all you need to do, pick one and tackle that first. I'm not preaching, just want you to enjoy a long and healthy life. Best wishes!
Well....from my experience it sounds like anxiety but I'm not a doctor. When I get bad anxiety it does feel like sharp pains in my chest and it's hard to breath. I used to drink alot to get rid of the depressed feelings I was having. Didn't realize until I got older that alcohol causes depression? That's why I quit! You may want to cut back on the drinking (I'm not trying to lecture) and speak to a psychiatrist about your meds. You may be on the wrong ones or the doses may be too low. I hope this helps you a little :0) I'm dealing with my own battles of Depression and Anxiety and found a great doctor that has gotten me on the right track....to enjoy life! I wish you the best.
