Child hit head

I have a young one 4 yrs. and everytime I bend over or something she climbs on my back and I always tell her stop. Anyway she finally dropped off when she unexpectedly climbed on my back and I moved , so she hit her head back hard on the tile floor and now she's sleepy and the front of her head ( forehead and nose bridge) hurt instead of her head back. What should I do.

Due to how young she is, you really need to take her to the E.R.

if you choose not to it could result in very serious consequences.

Keep her awake en route to the e.r....keep her talking, singing- something....but do not let her fall asleep.

have her play a game called "remember this!!"... give her three simple things like "ball, cat, food" to remember....most children at this age she be able to recall small common words like that after five minutes of being told them.

also check her pupils and make sure they are reacting to light..."do they get smaller in light?" "Do they get larger in the dark" "Are they the same round shape and size?"

tell the nurse at the e.r. that your daughter fell from (estimate the height of fall) and that she hit her (what part of head) head on (explain the type of flooring she hit her head on).. tell her how long ago it happened and the changes in personality and behavior in your child. Also, if you do play "remember this!"...tell the nurse what happened and tell her anything abnormal you notice in your daughter's eyes!

Biggest thing here is to get your daughter seen by a medical professional and to keep her AWAKE!
