I know exactly what you mean I have been havin these feelings on an off since I was in high school at first I thought it was my mind reacting to my first time smoking but it's can't be and I quit that then I just try to lay in bed and read and let it go away. Try and have people around me to calm me down, I couldn't go to work today because in so scared. Any suggestions to get out of these funks

I'v had that same thing happen to me with my first few panic attacks. Best thing to do is tell yourself its not real take a few deep breaths and focus your mind on something peaceful. I'v gotten to where i can keep from getting that one durring my attacks most of the time. I know how it feels though...I was scared ******** when my first attack hit. I was trying to sleep and all the sudden it felt like i turned into air. I couldnt feel my body at all. And of corse the pounding heart, sweating, nausia, confusion ect... set in. I seem to have worse confusion when i wake up in a sleep attack. Like i'v told other i feel like a zombie..just walking around not knowing whats up. My first attack was really bad but i thought it was because i drank this energy drink called spark so the next day i didnt think nothin of it and had no trouble for months. Then it just hit me at the beggining of this month and has stayed since. It really sucks...i'v been to the doctor and i know its all in my mind. But its hard to shake the worry of it. I love to ride dirtbikes and these attacks seem to love to happen when i do. I dont know why though cause i dont really fear anything when riding. Mine lituraly strike out of nowhere.

It's been a while since I took it but I almost took myself off celexa because it made me feel like what you are talking about and in fact I tried several time before and always went off because of the dizziness. Usually about 10 days on the same dose and it starts going away. One thing I remember about the celexa is I woke up one morning and just felt happy. It was weird.  The dizziness and light headed feeling should go away, just stick it out. If it doesn't for some reason, then you can switch to lexapro.

Funny you said that. I felt the exact same way on citalopram(celexa) when I took it about 7 years ago. I was so dizzy on it and whenever I moved my head my eyes would follow later. However, one day I woke up and felt so much better and the dizziness went away. I suspect the feeling will go away once you adjust but celexa definitely made me feel a little weird at first so I think that could be your cause.

What meds are you taking? I know during a panic attack I had what is called derealization and depersonalization. It's pretty scary but you also would have the other symptoms along with panic attack if it was a panic attack. If your just having derealization or depersonalization symptoms it could be caused by the meds you are taking or some form of anxiety or even something else entirely. Maybe a little more info on your situation might help us.
