Do I have anxiety?

Hi I am 16 and I think I have some type of anxiety problem. I am very shy and have problems getting  really scared when I talk to new people or in front of a lot of people because I feel like everyone hates me or won't like me. I have or think I have had some anxiety attacks, it is like where I can't breath and just really scared. Now this is the main and serious problem I have, I swing like on a swing set. The movement or rocking back and fourth it the only thing that makes me feel better about anything. I have been swinging for as long as I can remember, because I have always been really embarrassed by it  but I can't stop not even if I wanted to. I really just don't know what to do because it is taking over my life and is all I can think about so if you can please help me or tell me if I need to go seek help thank you and God bless.:)

You might be kind of obsessive-compulsive too. But here's the thing. All of these *possible* issues (I stress possible because I'm not a doctor) can be addressed through therapy and perhaps also medication. I really really encourage you to ask your parents to get you an appointment with a psychologist who can help you work through the challenges you're facing. If necessary, perhaps a psychiatrist can help later on with some medicine(s). Make this a top priority. You'll be happier for it. I wish you all the best!

Your shyness and anxiety in social situations seems like social anxiety. And it does seem like you have had some anxiety attacks, based on your description. As for the swinging, this seems like a "stimming" (self-stimulating) behavior that gives you comfort. Have you ever been diagnosed with Asperger's? You just might be. It's not the end of the world by any means. I suggest talking with a counselor who can help you with your social anxiety, anxiety/panic, and also make sense of your stimming.
