Does anyone feel their heart "pause" during a panic attack?

I suffered from panic attacks about 5 years ago.  Zoloft help me get them under control.  I was off Zoloft for about 2 years.  Well my PA's have returned but tend to only be at night when trying to sleep.  This time though, I was feeling the palpitations/flutters so I took my pulse and feel a long pause in my heart beat.  I went to the doctor who said it sounded like a preventricular contraction.  They did an EKG, Echo, and put me on a Holter Monitor.  All came out normal.  In 48 hours, I did not have one PVC although i marked several events that felt like like a flutter.  The cardiologist said it could be anxiety (which I am under alot of lately plus having a history of panic disorder).

So my question is to other people notice this same "pause" when having a panic attack (that is when the "pause" is worst)?

Thanks all.

This is very common and nothing to worry about..............unless the pause lasts more than a few hours! LOL Sorry, I know it's really not funny. My pulse does the exact same thing and has for nearly 40 years now. I'm still kickin' (just not as high as I once did!)

RELAX! And get your finger off your pulse point..........you are probably imagining 99% of them with your anxiety!
Peace

So when you feel a little flutter, you take your pulse and feel a noticable pause?

I was diagnosed with panic disorder, and yes i have that same problem. I ignore it, because it hasnt caused me any hard besides some weird feelings and some fear.
