hello prettywinter:  ok...i am a dad....big difference i know-----but a dad can help you with the anxiety by being your true partner----financial support a biggie...helping with baby a biggie.....and the sleep deprivation is really challenging. But the closeness----the sharing----the Love is what will calm both you and the baby. (Yes---high anxiety for the baby too...Kaboom!  Bright lights....noise....you know?)......
Hope ya have a dad for baby and i hope he is your partner.

I am so sorry to hear of your past miscarriages.....I am not a doctor, but have 20 nieces and nephews combined with my own 2 children and do know that the most important thing to remember is to listen to your OB
and trust that he/she is working for you and the baby....I too wish you
the very best with this baby...

As for life changing once the baby arrives, things are different now then when I had children.  Now the whole world is baby friendly, from Vegas to
all the Airports to Beach Escapes in Mexico.  You can run with your baby for exercise with the little running strollers, and the car seats do not weigh 50 pounds like they used to....There are trendy baby paks where you can carry your baby on the front of your body with no back or arm fatigue on your part.

What is different after your babys birth will be maybe a little sleep disturbance as babies systems are small and they cannot go a long time
between feedings.

If you work, you will probably be off for a short time with maternity leave, and during that time you can search out the best care for your baby when you do go back to work.

You don't mention your age or what you think might change once baby gets here, but if you are real social and enjoy going out a lot to clubs
or taverns, you still have plenty of time to set up trusted sitters for those
times you will be away at night.

Good luck to you....Let us know how you are doing...I love babies......

My main problems are if the baby is a pre mature baby? I have had 6 mid carriages and I'm really worried. I have talked about it with my OB but he can't put me on anything. It's a risk for the baby. And how different will my life be with a baby? Will I do things like I use to?

I too was very anxious when I was pregnant. I would think that it is normal, but it is something to talk to your doctor about. There are many things that you can do to try to help your anxiety, such as therapy, deep breathing exercises, mediation, yoga, massages, and family support.

I was a mother at 17, totally unprepared for this major responsibility,
and this was way before the internet and I used every elder I knew
to help guide me along the way.  All I knew is that the babies needs
were for love, food, and then more love....with clean diapers along the
way...

Being scared is very normal....For the first 3 weeks after my son and I
came home from the hospital, I would wake up out of a dead sleep
hearing him cry and wonder why his parents hadn't come and picked
him up yet....Then I would laugh at myself and carry on with those
things that needed to be done....

You will be fine and please let us know if you have any specific
concerns we can help you with.....
