thank you for the advise.. i actually started to consider doing yoga..
It is very easy for those of us with anxiety/panic to become focused on our breathing, which right then and there will make it go wonky! Once it's gone wonky on us, the vicious cycle begins. Relaxing is the key, but most of us lost the key a long time ago.
As long as you're not passing out or turning blue, I think you just need to learn some tricks to help you get your attention away from your breathing. There are many good books out there to help you do just that. Meditation is another great way to focus on our breathing in a good way. Yoga is great, too.
If none of these things work for you after giving them a really fair trial, I would suggest, on the rather extreme end of things, to consult with a Pulmanologist...........a person who deals with nothing BUT breathing..........but as I said, I hardly think you're going to have to go that route. Your anxiety is keeping you focused on your breathing, not the other way around.
Let us know how you're doing, OK? This is a very common problem and there are quite a few folks here who would be interested to know how you conquered this issue.
Good luck!
Peace
