GI and chest pain

I am 25 years old and had been a binge beer drinker on the weekends for about 5 years until I stopped after having many issues. In March of this year I began to have stomach issues with throwing up blood and having black stools.  I have been to the ER five times in the last three months along with countless visits to my doctor and GI specialists.  I have had IV contrast ct scans of abdomen and chest,  two X-rays of chest, and an endoscopy, many ekg tests, a stress test and blood work.  For about two weeks In April, I was having anxiety attacks due to not knowing what was wrong with me.  However, I have control of the anxiety now, but my pain won't go away.  I have continuous non stop upper and lower abdomen pain along with chest pains that will range from a 3 to a 9 on a daily basis.  i take Prilosec, Zantac, and high bp medicine along with ativan if my anxiety kicks up.  I have been diagnosed with Gerd, but never have "heartburn."  The pain seems to be most consistent in the center under the rib cage but I will have pain in all parts of abdomen and even back.  The chest pain will. Also go clear out to my sides.  The chest pain will also be in the center as well.  So far the doctors have nothing and want to attribute it to anxiety but I don't feel any anxiety and the pain still won't go away.  Does anyone have any idea as to what they could be missing or if there is some other test I should have done? Most recent ER visit was due to chest pain a week after endoscopy and they didn't find anything after EKG and x ray.

I agree with paxiled as it does sound like you have an ulcer. It's good that you stopped drinking because that will cause additional anxiety and health problems. I've had doctors throw that gerd crap on me before as well and the reason I felt like crap was because of anxiety because once that was under control I felt better. If you find that you are nauseous when you have anxiety there could be a correlation there, it certainly is for me.

If you had an endoscopy and CT scan of the abdomen and Pelvis then they should have had the answer. Vomiting blood and black stools can certainly bee because of gastritis/ulcer/bleeding varices from drinking. But if it had been a big issue they would have seen it on the endoscopy. The only other tests that I can think off would be a endoscopy, which it does not sound that you had.
I also, have been experiencing a lot of chest pain without actually feeling anxious. In the past my symptoms were all GI in nature but I could tell I was anxious. I have had tests myself and I don't think there it is cardiac in nature but the pain is really severe. My mind may not feel anxious consciously but my body sense it and this may be the reaction to it. Just keep following up with your GI doctor, therapist and GP. Stop drinking if possible. If you see blood again in your stool or you vomit blood I would not attribute that to anxiety.

I don't know what you have, but anxiety can't cause blood and black stools.  That sounds like an ulcer.
