yes i do believe that vitamins/minerals can play a part. Also what you eat and the lack of exersice can also affect it. Maybe you can look up info or talk to a doc. about calcuim/magnesium. i think that can play a part with anxiety.
IBS stands for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and it's a nasty little disorder.
Being "weepy" is not what I would consider a classic symptom of anxiety, but it certainly is for depression.
That you feel overwhelmed at Home Depot and get "weepy" but NOT panicy, leads me back to a DX (diagnosis) of depression as opposed to anxiety. Same with the phone calls when you get sort of befuddled by things you may not understand completely. If it just makes you feel like crying and not like you're about to have a heart attack, then once again, depression fits the bill.
Have you ever had an anxiety/panic attack? (And if you need to ask what that is, my guess would be that you haven't!)
I think, if it was me, I would go back to my doctor for a further discussion of my symptoms and possibly the meds he/she has you on. I don't know how long you've been on them, so it's possible they simply have not reached therapeutic levels yet. But the bottom line is that you saw your doctor for specific symptoms and apparently they have not been helped by the meds your on. Sorry to repeat myself, but get back with your doc and delve into what's going on a bit deeper.
Please keep us posted and let us know what your doc says, OK?

I dont know what IBS is, but my anxiety seems to have no noticable symptoms EXCEPT...I sorta start to cry...for instance: on the phone...if I start to explain my problem (ie:insurance coverage details) I cant seem to finish my sentences without sounding as if Im crying...Its very embarassing!! what I wonder..is it common? Im on zoloft & wellbutrin for "depression", but I dont really think I have depression...I think its anxiety, usually about something like health insurance, or something Im not sure how to handle.
I feel overwhelmed (for instance: at Home Depot!!) & then I feel weepy...& of course, embarassed!!
any thoughts?
It IS quite unusual for those of us with anxiety/panic issues to not have physical manifestions in one form.....or many! But you talk about trouble sleeping and IBS when you get really "worked up." Both of those can be symptoms of anxiety, so maybe you didn't escape completely! While both of those are no fun, you are lucky that the more frequent and common symptoms seemed to have passed you by.
I can't really speak to your question of vitamins and minerals being directly linked to anxiety, but I do know that many people feel that the suppliments they take help with their stress or at least, help their body deal with it. It would take someone far more qualified than me to give you a difinitive answer about that. (Sorry!)
Since you are seeing a therapist, he/she should be able to answer these questions for you.
Let us know what you find out! There are many folks here who would be interested.
