I have this problem in my hands too, and I was recently diagnosed by my Neurologist as having carpel tunnel. I also have the rest of the symptoms you mention and was also recently diagnosed with TMJ. I have thought all this was anxiety, but no. These problems sure CAUSE anxiety, let me tell you.
Of course, it COULD be anxiety, but I would encourage you to see your doctor to rule out any physical problems.
Good luck!
I agree with JS, make an appointment with a doctor to express your concerns. Given your description and age, it probably is anxiety, but you should always express your concerns with a medical proffessional, because they can get you on the right track. Once you do this, confront the anxiety by talking it over with a therapist. By learning about the cycle, you will be better able to deal with this pattern of thinking...keep us posted!
You asked this same question yesterday, and I responded as follows:
"Have you bee diagnosed with anxiety/panic? Does the doc SAY that's what it is? And WHEN did he/she say so? If the diagnosis comes from a thorough medical assessment, it should be regarded as very possible, if not the "last word." And if it does not come from such an assessment, start dialing for doctors and get scoped out.
And let us know what you are told.
All that said, numbness is a symptom that is not inconsistent with anxiety. But "not inconsistent" does NOT mean it IS panic/anxiety."
It appears to me, based on TODAY's post, that your info is coming from Mom, who at one times was a nurse. And that means you probably need to get a medical assessment from an actual doctor. The last thing you want to do is make your mind up based on an opinion poll here, although I believe most people here would agree that what you have COULD BE "just" anxiety. Which puts you right back where you are now. COULD BE.
What you need is to know more about whether it is you have, not just so you are informed, but also so that you know what to DO about it. So -get an appointment.
And please tell us the outcome.
We're with you.
