How much radiation or my thinking is weird ?

Thank You for the Question
Hi... I never had any x-rays in my entire life. I am 21 yrs male. Recently i was obsessed with some sort of bug or insect thing going in my nose and where it will go. i just kept wondering for a whole lot of week. i asked questions if a bug would crawl into your nose where it will go? to the brain or to the throat? everyone told me over the internet that it will be killed inside your nose and that no nasal passage lead to the brain and it will either go down to your throat. but i was so obsessed that i went for the x-rays 2 days ago. i told the technician that to take the para-nasal or sinus's x-ray. so he ordered me to lay on my front and he took the x-rays from the back of my head. Now i was wondering that how much radiation would be inside me. i've heard that bones absorb x-rays that's why they appear white on the film and air doesn't absorb so it appears black. is there any trouble for bones to absorbing x-rays. is my brain protected from the x-rays i had from my back. yes it appears solid white. my skull. also i was thinking as the technician prepared me for the test, he went back and switched the button on and i heard the clicks and then he took something below my face on which i was looking at or whatever it was some silver shield, he took them and went inside a room. while i kept on lying the same way. then he came out with a film in his hand after 1 minute i guess. i was thinking during the time he was inside the room, was the x-ray machine on. Because when he came out I was lying there and he said you’re done. This thought came across my mind this morning as I am writing. And lastly tell me how much radiation is out there in a single x-ray exam like in my case I never had any of them before. Please help me out. !!!!!! Thanks a lot

You don't have to worry about the x-rays. X-rays emit very low levels of radiation. As tia77 said, you are exposed to more radiation flying in an airplane or even staying out in the sun for extended periods of time. However, you should speak to someone about the obsessive thoughts you've been having (about the bug, and now the x-rays). I suffer from hypochondria, and you wouldn't believe all of the illness I was convinced I had over the years (never actually had any of them). Luckily, it can be managed with therapy and common anxiety / antidepressant meds.

It would take ALOT of xrays for them to be dangours.  After the tech came in and took the plate away he went in to develovpe the xray and when it came back fine that is when they tell you to get up.  If the xray was blured they would have taken another one while you were still on the table.  The click you herd was the actual picture taken.  I have had alot of xrays in my life and also a heart ablation which I was under a machine that has radiation throughout the procedure.  A few xrays a year are fine.  They use them all the time to dx things. You actually get more radiation flying in an airplane than a single xray.   You are going to be ok and you won't feel any diffrent after an xray.  Take care.

i have had lots of x-rays since i was little. i was 3 when i had a hole in my heart and i had to go through a lot of x-rays. so if xrays were dangerous to anyone they wouldnt do it on a young child. im not quiet sure how muhc radation is in each xray...but i wouldnt worry. xrays are onyl helpful...not hurtful.
