Can the contraceptive implant implanon cause anxiety and depression?

hello I am a male asking your ladies for help I have bean with my fiancée for 4 years and we have never had an argument in all that time she had the implant in 3months ago and then things slowly changed she stopped sleeping over we couldn't have sex she has been  bleeding all the time since it was fitted and 2 weeks ago she was telling how much she loved me and we was fine as with I was worried with her not stopping. 4 to 5 months ago we was looking in buying an house then get married and then kids in years to come so we pretty much had it all sorted life was grate we was never happier then last week she was booked in to have it removed on the Monday but on the Sunday  she told me she feel the way she ment to  and finshed with me after having it removed she came up to see me because I need to know why and she did not know why she felt like this she wont talk to me any more and she is out on the drink all the time im giving her the space she needs but to know how long to it take for her to get back to her old self its me birthday next week and I don't  want spend it alone with out her

Hya thanks for your response she still won't talk to me about me and her we started texting a few days ago but she won't talk about us or tell me what's going on in her head all she is saying is I don't want to be with anyone at all and she needs to find her self  and she wants to experience life but space and time and see what happens ithat's telling me she is messed up I want to help but she won't let me I asked if she wanted to go to a gig in Leeds nickel back next week and she told me no last week so I text her and told her it was booking my ticket to go on my owne yesterday 18th 11  and then I got a text saying that if she goes will I do her head in going on about us 2 I've never seen her in 4 weeks so as you can gess I agreed to any thing so we going next week me mam was talking to her in pub and when she was talking about me she started crying I'm sure she still loves me but this implant has ****** it all up it should be banned

Hi, I've just seen your comment on another thread i posted in.. I hope by now everything's settled down between the two of you.. Speaking from experience.. IF it's the implant playing with her hormonal imbalance, she's probably trying to let off steam.. As hard as it is for you to cope seeing her like this, remember that she must be feeling 100x worse in herself! I've now had my implant out and am still not 100% better. Far from it.. My doctor said it can take up to a month for the effects to be out of your body, some people may take more or less time to recover. As for the bleeding, this is extremely common, some women bleed for months at a time and sex drive decreases or sometimes dissapears completely. When she says she doesn't know why she feels like this, she probably doesn't, it's very frightening to feel like this so just try to sympathise with her...

Her Dr will most likely not talk to you about your girlfriend. It's a Dr patient confidentiality thing and can be the law.
All you can really do is give her the space she needs right now and hopefully things will get better soon.

Yea and I have printed lots and lots of statements off thease forums and give them to her to be honest I freeked out when she told me that was it she won't talk to me anymore so I've gave her space and she bin on the drink nonstop for a week to 10 days witch is not like her at all how do I get to see the doctor if she won't Speek to me shud I ring her doc my self and ask if they can help her I'm  lost with out her

Yes, there is a possibility that the implant can cause mood changes like depression. It can also cause heavy bleeding in some women.
It's really hard to say when there side effects will wear off. She should give her Dr a call and ask.
Have you told her you think she was having side effects from the implant and is not acting like herself?
