On Lexapro for sevevre anxiety.....question for ex anti depressant users..

Hi guys...i just have a question...i've been taking lexapro for 3 weeks now ( almost 4 weeks )

due to my anxiety caused by my physical pain ( also had anxiety and depression as a child )

i just couldn't stand the d/p feeling and the spacey feeling that anxiety was giving me so i decided to look for medication
( Before this...i tried many alternatives...but it got to the point where i had to quit school )

my question is did it help? and lately i've been thinking if i should look for alternative methods such as acupuncture and supplements....

i decided to use lexapro to get me out of my spiral of anxiety and depression to get the rational side of mine back....

please give me some opinions...

You said you've tried other stuff.  Does that include therapy?  Because med or not med, you'll still have to do therapy if you seek a cure.  Drugs don't cure.  As for natural remedies, they're complicated to use, and a naturopath or holistic nutritionist would be someone to consult.  A good book on it is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist with UCLA.  As for being scared of meds, it's health to be aware of meds, but counterproductive to be afraid of them.  They are strong drugs, and should be used only with foreknowledge and sober reflection.  But if you need them, then let them do their thing.

Don't be scared. If lexapro don't help there are other medications. Ask your doctor about klonopin because klonopin sometimes helps for anxiety and dp.

If you decide to go back to natural methods, good luck.

in addition...
i was on lamictal for a month which made everything worse....
although it was 25 mg i had hard time coping so doctor just took me off cold turkey
and it was really ..really bad
so currently im on lexapro but i am just really scared...
