Listen to your doctor or pharmacist...........but stay OFF the Internet for advice from total strangers about starting, stopping or changing dosages or brands of any medications your doctor has prescribed for you. I can't emphasize that enough.
The above poster gave that same advice, so I'm just seconding what he said, but he is a wee guilty of offering bogus advice himself.
HesAPooka...........it's OK if you have an opinion about Nexium, even a very strong one, which you obviously do, but I think you need to keep in mind at least two things. First, we have a poster who we know trusts strangers on the Net more than she does her doctor, so when you make a blanket statement that "nexium is terrible," where, exactly, do you think she is right now? I'm betting she reading a blog about the evils of Nexium even as we speak.
Secondly, we all react to medications differently. Sometimes, we even have to try several different types before we find the one that works best for us. I'm guessing YOU had a not so good experience with Nexium, therefore, Nexium is terrible for everyone.
It's possible she has other medical conditions that prohibit her from taking another PPI. I myself had to stop taking Prilosec as it was contraindicated with one of my cardiac meds.
Just sayin'....................
On an anxiety forum, we sometimes need to stop and think how our opinions might affect someone else.

I'd sooner listen to your dr than people on the internet. That being said call your pharmacist, it's their job to know what medicines interact with one another.
On a side note, nexium is terrible.
