I take Alprazolam.  (Xanax)

Before that, I took Clonazepam (Klonopin)
And before that, I took Lorazepam (Ativan)

Having said that, if I had it to do over again, I think I'd avoid any and all benzos.

I don't take much, though.
My Pdoc prescribes .5 mg once a day and 1 mg at bedtime.

I have weaned myself off of the daytime dose.
I tried skipping the bedtime dose, but every time I did so, I'd pop awake 3 hours later and not be able to get back to sleep.

At other times in the past, I was prescribed 1 mg during the daytime.

Benzos work well for anxiety, but mostly I just try to live with it.  (Booo!!!)

I take Magnesium Glycinate as supplement. It would calm you down, help sleep soundly and rested. Its inexpensive at $4.00 for a bottle of 90 caps.
I get mine on line, or health food stores should have it.

Make sure its Glycinate and NOT  Oxide which is very common. That is used as laxative.
