Natural remedies for Panic/Anxiety attacks

Does anyone know of any good anti-anxiety/panic helpers? Natural meds? I have been on about 55 different perscription meds and have not had much luck. Actually I did have Great luck with 1 . The manufacture stopped making it because it was killing people. If they still made it I would take the chance and take it until the end. It totally stopped my anxiety/panic. BUT Oh well,,, Oh yes and Cog therapy does not work for me. Benzo's DO work but I don't want to end up in rehab. Please help..

This was helpful for me for some of my anxiety.  I think only because my body was in short supply of it.  I used to get panic attacks but they were treated and went away. Years later a panicy feeling would creep into me.  I found taking an amino acid called Taurine actually stopped the feeling.  But you have to understand the anxiety can be caused by many things.  I still have anxiety but that supplement got rid of a certain set of symptoms my antidepressant wouldn't fix.  They usually come in 500 mg dose.  That is what I took.  Twice a day.  Now I talked with some other people if they tried the taurine, and a few said it helped and a few said it made them feel worse.  Its all chemistry I guess.

Kava Kava can actually cause anxiety for some people, so you wanna be careful with that one.

Tea is actually wonderful "not compared to a benzo or anything, lol" but Ive always liked the sleepytime mint Chamoline tea, that and decaf spice "stash" chai tea, pretty good stuff.

Im happy they were able to find you something, hopefully it works out for you.
Keep in touch
God Bless

Caffeine in moderation is ok if your used to caffeine.
Because your body can also have a "withdraw" effect from it if its used to it.
Tobbaco has been proven to enhance the chance of Panic disorder, probably because Nicotine "and all the other ****" inhibits the Dopeamine receptors, "thats why drugs like wellbutrin can help a person quit, because it focus's on the same receptors"
Both Passion Flower and Valerian Root help anxiety pretty good. Valerian Root inperticulary, because it inhibits the same receptors as benzos "works on the GABA"
Vitamin C is great, can never have enough take it twice daily bigger dose in the morning because studys have shown that it lowers cortisol levels, Cortisol levels are higher in the morning, Cortisol is the Hormone responsible for Panic attacks etc..
Magnesium is great too.
amnio acids are VERY IMPORTANT, They play a big roll in a healthy CNS ands normal function.
a good multi vitamin B is also a good choice, often Vitamin b Deficiancys symptoms are anxietys, chest pains, and the whole deal.

You have to be careful with "natural" remedies as well as prescriptions. Also be very careful with mixing the two. Anyway, here is what has worked for me. This regimen has enabled me to get off klonopin and alleviated (not cured) my anxiety and panic attacks:

- a very healthy and balanced diet
- moderate exercise
- Absolutely no caffeine
- no artificial sweeteners
- no alcohol (this is hard for me)
- sublingual B-complex 2 tsp per day
- 400 mg magnesium per day
- inositol 3000 mg per day
- vitamin E 200 IU per day
- vitamin C 6000 mg per day
- fish oil 1000 mg per day
- L-tryptophan 500mg per day
- Zinc 50 mg per day
- passionflower 250 mg as needed
- valerian root as needed 50 mg as needed

I cannot say exactly how it is working or if this all is just a placebo. Irregardless, I am able to function, work, and play now without benzos. Mind you I also did some biofeedback and read some books on anxiety. I think it was a combination of all of the above. Good luck!
