Neurontin

Anyone taking neurontin for anxiety? I was started on it almost 3 weeks ago...I was started out only on 100mg at bedtime, now I"m taking 200mg. Has anyone had any horrible side effects? After the 200mg I feel sort of drugged and really sleepy (although it didn't help me sleep, odd.) Just wondering what your experiences are.

I know what you mean about the SSRI's. I too felt like I was going to die on them. I saw my pysc last night. I am feeling a little better. For now we are going to try therapy for a month and see how that goes. Keep me updated on the neurontin. I'm curious as to if it works or not. Good luck to you!!

I don't know if it's expensive or not. I have insurance and it's $20. I haven't noticed any side effects. When I increased the dose I did feel sort of like a foggy feeling the next morning but it only lasted for a few hours and one day. Anxiety wise I don't know if it's helping or not yet...I have a heart condition as well and it's hard for me to determine whether it's my heart or the anxiety. I haven't had any increased anxiety though so that is good because on the SSRI's the anxiety was out of control to the point I thought I was literally going to die.

I don't really have any advice, but I go to see my psyc tonight and that was his next suggestion. I was just wondering if it is helping at all with your anxiety and what has your side effects been? Also I don't have any insurance right now is it expensive?
