The symptoms you describe are classic PTSD.
Also usually accompanying the disorder is some form of Major Depressive Disorder.
The key here is the subconcious, you have been injured and your subconcious is trying to understand it.
The key to dealing with PTSD is understanding it, either you deal with "it", or "it" deals with you.
Cognative Out-Patient Group Therapy medication and one on one with a good psychiatrist will bring you to a level where you can cope, then begin to heal, your immediate goals should be learning to adjust, to avoid the anxiety/paranoia and be able to deal with people again. It will happen, your soul will heal on its own accord, it takes time. God Bless.
You have been given excellent advice by mammo. Therapy WILL help you deal with the trauma you've experienced.
When you write......" My life has changed drastically this year, and the fear and anxiety is overwhelming." I have to wonder how much your doctors have helped you to understand and cope with your health issues. If they are aware you are having some rather severe difficulty coping, they should be referring you to someone who can counsel you in how to deal with those issues.
I would suggest asking your doctor(s) if there is someone who is qualified to help you learn, understand and deal with your specific health anxiety.
I was recently diagnosed as "pre-diabetic," and I was pretty freaked out by the news. My doctor sent me to a wonderful ARNP who is helping me learn what I need to do so I don't slip into Type II diabetes. Perhaps there is someone like that you could consult. Please ask your doctors.
As mammo said, we're always here, so please post any time you need to talk, OK?
Peace

Medical trauma is a big cause of anxiety. Anxiety feeds off our fears and worries so when you worry that you may be going to have another seizure it amps up your anxiety creating more symptoms. Therapy can help you to cope with what has happened and how to deal better with it starting now and in the future. Do they know what caused the seizure? If so are you being treated? It's normal to fear something like this happening again, but it's the constant worry and fear that's making you miserable. Get into therapy to learn how to not dwell on this and to cope with what has happened. We all understand so feel free to talk about things with us....we're always here!
