I'm on lexapro and so far it has done wonders for me went from atleast 3 panic attacks a weak till 0 . It differs from person to person it might work wonders for me but for you it could turn out to be a nightmare, only way to know is to try it. My side effects were likely minimal. I only experienced headaches and slight dizziness when standing up and the worst was the insomnia but all disepeared in about a weak but nothing you wont be able to handle. Goodluck and hope you have the same experience I have.

By the way, though I took Lexapro, I'm not going to tell you my side effects -- you'll just think about them and there's no way to say you'll get the same ones.  Only time will tell.

This is also known as Lexapro, and it is a seratonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), in the same class of drugs as Zoloft and Celexa.  I have never taken Lexapro, but I do take Zoloft, and it is my understanding that these types of drugs can take up to six weeks to begin working, and once they do, it's a thing like 'a little better each day' - not sudden relief.

My experience with Escitalopram was a good one.  It rid me of panic and anxiety for 10 years.  It did make me tired but not too bothersome.  I had no side effects otherwise.  Unfortunately it no longer works for me.  If you try it, I hope it works for you.

Unfortunately we can't tell you.  Side effects differ by the person and so do effects.  It's trial and error.  But I do want to ask, have you tried therapy, especially CBT, first?  Medication can help, but it doesn't cure, so if you haven't tried to cure it with therapy you should give it a go.
