I've never used it successfully, but keep in mind that if it works your main problem may be depression, as it's an antidepressant, not an anti-anxiety remedy. Many people's anxiety is caused by depression, which is why it's so difficult to treat and why CBT so often fails. As for your question, if it works for you, who cares what others have experienced? There are natural remedies specifically targeted for anxiety, such as herbal relaxants, taurine, and 5-HTP (which is for both depression and anxiety), but if this is working for you than great.
Hey there, I haven't used SAM-e, but it does have pretty good benefits.
Apparently, quite a bit of testing has proven it has efficacy in treating both anxiety and also depression, so I would not think this is a placebo effect taking place. To test it, you can go off SAM-e for a week and then monitor how you are feeling emotionally, and if you aren't feeling all that well without taking it, then that would prove its working.
I forgot the specifics of it, but SAM-e has something to do with enabling better release of a certain neurotransmitter, not too sure but it does something like that. Omega-3's can do similar things, some studies suggest that diets high in Omega-3's like fish and seafood, actually may reduce the incidence of depression or depressive states in people.
Anyone with experience using sam-e?
