Starting Effexor 2moro?

Well I'm starting it 2moro, 75mg. I've been on lexapro 20mg for about 10 years now, but recently my mood hasn't been so good, so I along with my doctor have decided to try out Effexor to see if something new might help.

Are there any bad side effects to look out for, or is it a pretty safe drug. I tried a different anti-deppresent before but it made me put on a lot of weight :(

Well it's about 3 hours since I took me first tablet, no major effects so far, feel a little drowsy but I didn't sleep to well last night anyway.

@ JE55LEW, a loss of appetite may help me, I could do with losing a bit of weight lol. I'll stick it out alrite, really feeling optimistic about this, hopefully it can move me on to better things, as I've come a long way in the last few months.

hi I'm on 150mg of effexor one 75mg in the morning and one 75mg about 2ish in the afternoon. i have been bk on effexor 10weeks and bk to normal now but it does take time to get into your system about 6 weeks i'd say so hang in there with it and don't quit if you feel its not working right away. you may get sum side effects like a little dizziness and not feeling hungry and your sleep may be up and down but all will pass believe me i'v ben through it twice. hope this helps :o)

Don't worry I don't miss doses ever lol, so hopefully will never feel the flu like symptoms. I hoping it gives me an extra boost and gets me feeling even better.

I work in the medical field and I do no that most patients when they try to come off of effexor is really bad. It is like the flu when doing without it. Now I do know that most of the patients taking it like how they feel while on it. Just watch if you miss doses or go off of it.  hope this was helpful
