Switching from Paxil to Zoloft...

Paxil just wasn't working out very well for me, I felt terrible all of the time so have been switched to Zoloft. Does anybody take Zoloft and like it? I'm anxious to try something new, they're starting me at 25mg, and I am pretty excited to get a different medication in hopes of finally feeling better.

I too will share that Zoloft worked wonders for me!  Zoloft is one of the most commonly Rx'd SSRI's (if not THE most common) for anxiety disorders, specifically panic disorder.  It has great success rates due to the fact that it tends to be easier tolerated than some of the other AD's.

Give it a try, and just remember to be patient, you have to give it at least 6-8 weeks after getting to your goal dose (ie 75 mg, 100mg, etc) before being able to fairly evaluate it's effectiveness.

Best of luck, ler us know how it goes!

I am on Zoloft (second time) and it is amazing for me.  I will tell you though early on (the first two weeks) I did have some side effects but yours may be very minimal since you are switching AD's.  Week 5 is my "it's working" point.....and it only gets better from there.  I'm currently in week 7 and feel great.  I still have "moments" but I am SO much calmer!!!  I am in therapy and keep my xanax handy just in case but so far so good. Haven't had to take a Xanax in almost 3 weeks. Best of luck to you....I hope you do well on Zoloft!  Just give it time!  :)

Zoloft is awesome for me.  But I am very sensitive to most meds so I was pretty glad that this worked for me.  Some people experience worst symptoms with Zoloft but honestly it was pretty okay for me.  Initially though I had horrible headaches-and pressure in my head--sometimes I get some headaches still but all in all it has calmed me right down.

It's probably different for everyone, but Paxil actually made me feel completely normal, only reason I switched was because I gained a lot of weight.
I would try something like Lexapro.

This is just par for the course.  With AD's we often have to try different ones until we find what works best for us....and you will!  Zoloft is widely used and I hope you have the same success with it as I did. I hope it works and you can start to feel better...I know how miserable it can be.  Wishing you all the best!
