Switching from Cymbalta and Xanax to Celexa and Klonopin

Whenever it comes to switching my medication, I am a nervous wreck!  My Dr. switched me from Effexor XR to Cymbalta a little over 2 months ago and it isn't doing anything for me.  He decided to switch me again, this time to Celexa.  He said I could just stop taking the Cymbalta 60 mg and Xanax .5 mg 2x a day and start the Celexa 10 mg and Klonopin 1 mg - 1/2 to 1 tablet twice daily as needed.  I have been on xanax .5 mg for years.  My concern is this...will I have withdrawals switching directly from the Cymbalta to the Celexa and switching from the Xanax to the Klonopin?  Any input would greatly help - my Dr. seems to rush me out the door before I can ask all my questions!!!  Thanks!!

Thank you so much for replying!  I have been reading your posts and you really seem to know your stuff.  So I wasn't being nervous or paranoid for no reason....because I should have been nervous all along about switching.  I thought it just didn't seem right to switch over and be fine.  You said that Cymbalta and Effexor have sedating qualities as well, I wonder if that is why I have been so darn sluggish while on the Cymbalta?  I will take your advice and stay on the Cymbalta until I switch over to the klonopin too.  Believe me, I will discuss this with my Doctor and will not let him push me out the door until I am comfortable with the answers I get from all the questions I ask, then I will probably be looking to switch Doctors.  Again, thank you...I appreciate your response more than you know!  :-)

Thank you for your input!  I am definitely considering switching Docs...he always seems so rushed and doesn't seem concerned.  I will also keep you posted on my progress.  Thanks again!

probably not but everyone is diffenet I have stopped lots of meds but I have never had any withdrawls other than going back to being bi polar. be firm with your doctor and get your moneys worth from him .Write down the stuff you want to talk to him about and dont leave till you get answers. If that doesnt work change docs.Keep posted on your progress while you switch meds.
