Tachycardia

Ok, so I had a major very unusual anxiety attack. It was stronger than most before and I couldn't breathe and I was nauseated. I took my Clorazepate and I feel a little drowned out now but I just checked my BP and it was 147 over 99 with a pulse of 142. I still feel a little anxious but seeing this didn't help at all. Is this normal with an anxiety attack? My attack occurred pretty much from about 1:30 until 3:30.

Thank you Vince. I had hoped not to have any issues this week since I am going on vacation on the beach in 2 days. I guess it was inevitable.

Hi!
I'm a new member here but what I can say is that I had almost the same freaking experience than your 2 weeks ago!!!

I had to drive to my Doc office alone and since driving is for me really hard because of my heart phobia, I do an major panic attack. I had a lot of apprehensions and fears before I leave the house for the appointment and the panic occur 5 minutes after I start driving.

The panic attack last 30 minutes, something not usual for me, since normally it's last only 5 minutes or less. I had extreme chest pain, I became blind for almost 15 minutes, not able to breath at all, strong depersonalisation feeling, higher pulse rate of my life for almost 25 minutes, nausea and abdominal pain and the list goes on... 1 hour before I leave my house I took 1 mg of Rivotril, who apparently is not working anymore... and took another 1 mg when I mg when vision return while I was doing the panic attack...

For me it was the worse experience of my life. Since 2 weeks, i'm having worse fears and apprehensions when it's time to drive my car. In fact, I almost not go out of my house since then. I always have pins and needles pain in my left arm and hands as well as chest pain with very low pulse rate and high blood pressure... I feel like I will have another panic attack all the time...

So I think it's normal... anxiety can lead to a lot of symptoms...

I'm a lot worried about my heart, that's why I post a question also 1 hour ago...

What I find difficult is to forget that specific panic attack and be able to drive my car again without the level of fears and apprehensions I have now because of that panic attack!!!

I do a CBT therapy and my therapist ask me to do exposure exercises to help me to recover from my fear of driving my car alone and avoid future panic attack while I drive... but that's really hard... and not seem to help me...

For the 2 hours long panic attack, I think it's also normal. I have chronic anxiety symptoms of panic attack, without having a full panic attack, they call it limited symptom attacks... when you have 5 or more symptoms of anxiety who occur when you have a panic attack without having the full panic attack... Hard to explain but it's now chronic for me...

I'm always dealing with a lot of chronic symptoms now : palpitations with low or too fast pulse rate, sweating from hands, feet, tremor, shortness of breath, chest pain and discomfort, abdominal pain, dizziness, lightheaded, lack of energy with fainting sensation, derealization and depersonalization, fear of dying, numbness or tingling sensations, confusion, memory lost, limited cognitives abilities, can't focus for a long time on my computer screen or do a task where I need to use my brain without feeling really tired and having stronger headache, chronic headache, jaw pain... I have those symptoms all the time 24h/24...

When I have a full panic attack I have extra symptoms like the fear of losing the control, very fast pulse rate (more than 180), I feel the need to escape the place where the panic occur... have to walk or move or call someone and speak or try to speak when I can't breath...

So you are not alone...and it's normal I think...

I hope you are doing well now!!! I know, that's hard to stop anxiety and panic... just try to relax and change your minds with something you like!!!

Take care!
