Man I was racking my brain trying to think of the pain pill my doctor prescribed me for a procedure and that was it-VICODINE! I just wrote a post the other day about mixing medications and I feel your pain MMomma, I truly do! But I will say that Summer123 is right. As long as you are following your MD's directions and not taknig more or a higher dose then you should be fine. If ever you don't feel comfortable about something let your doctor know, that's what I did. Even though she was upset with me, I was able to have the procedure and not have a total panic attack because of the meds I was SUPPOSED to take.
Having anxiety is awful and then having health anxiety.....ugh, it's a real pain. Ever since Heath's death I have been obsessing about meds and I am on two right now. Needless to say anytime I take my beta blocker I am panicky, or should I say MORE SO now as I have always been anxious about taking my meds.
My Mother's doctor just lowered her dose of pain pills, but she is on a lot of stuff right now because she just had knee surgery, she's diabetic, has asthma....you get my drift. So from one "cautious" person to the next.....try to remember everything is relative. I know it's hard, but we can do it!
thanks so much! u ppl are a blessing
Hi. I was on pain pills for 12 years for pain. Was on xanex 4 mg/day for 20 years. Took pills exactly as prescribed and had no problem. Finally went off the pain pills as the pain is being managed without them. Perhaps you are thinking about the recent overdose of Heath Ledger. Just heard that he was on oxycodone, hydrocodone, valium, xanex and a couple other drugs. I am almost positive he didn't take them as prescribed, but to get high. Also, most people do not take valium and xanex together as they do the same thing. As long as your doctor/s know that you are taking both the vicoden and xanex and you are not going over the dose recommended and aren't too sedated, I wouldn't worry about it.
