Random Pains Making Me Somewhat Worry

I recently forgot to take my anxiety meds for 2 days straight, so maybe im just over worrying but i want to make sure this isnt from something serious... i randomly got pain in the back of my knee yesterday, and then the other one later. It is pretty much gone now, but then earlier tonight, my wrist started hurting with a somewhat sharp pain.  I was reading somwhere that a type of cancer can create pain on the veins of the legs, which many of them run through thr back of the knee and many run through the wrists.  I could just be over worrying tho because of not taking my anxiety meds for a few days tho like i said. can not taking them for 2 days make an impact?

Depending on what med, how long, how frequently and what dose you were taking....missing two days absolutely could be giving you symptoms!

Remember, you are a young, young man...and the cancer you are talking about (that you most likely found using that evil google) is rare, number one...and number two....you wouldn't just get these obvious symptoms appearing overnight.

You HAVE to remind yourself that this is the anxiety cycle..the "what-iffing" that we all do.  That is ALL it is. Not a terminal, rare deadly disease.   And, the more anxious you become (which is surely increased simply due to you missing your meds I would assume)....the more super aware you become of each and every sensation in your body.  Something that a non-anxious person wouldn't even notice...becomes catastrophic for anxiety sufferers.

I would suggest, if you haven't already.....contact your doc about the missed doses.  He/she will most likely tell you just to pick up the doses again...but you want to be sure...it's always best to check with your doc first.  If the meds are something you are supposed to be taking every day (not just "as needed")...then find a way to remind yourself to take them.  Put the bottle next to your toothbrush....put a note on the fridge...whatever it takes, until you get into the swing of remembering.  Also, if it is a morning dose, and you remember later in the day. it's usually perfectly fine to go ahead and take it then...better than missing the whole day's worth.  When you call your doc...confirm that with him/her....that if you DO forget a dose in the future and realize that same day...can you take it at a different time?

Try to keep yourself busy...NO googling allowed (every anxiety sufferer should have google disabled on their pcs...lol)..and get back on track with your treatment.  Try not to focus on physical sensations too much...and if you start "what iffing"...remind yourself OUT LOUD that it is the anxiety talking.

Hi ,

It sounds more like some muscle sprain and not cancer.  Cancer pain would have been around for longer, I think. As you said it is quite probable that you are rather anxious without your meds and things may be back to normal upon resuming the meds.

Of course, only you will know how bad the pain is and whether or not it is impacting on your day to day activities. See your doctor if the pain continues.

In the meantime, try to relax/or distract yourself and see whether it helps.
