Thinking medicine is making me Worse

For years i was on xanax and it worked.About a year and  a half ago i believe it started me worse and i went off it.Went thru withdrawals ended up in a hospital was put on Klonopin for 9 months along with Risperdal and also tried several antidepressants.......DR. ended up taking me of klonopin ended back in hospital this past Feb. The dr decided to try me back on xanax now after being back on it its making feel worse again,it does not help my anxity and i feel lkike im losing it.Im going to tell my DR but i dont think he will believe me as so far 3 other meds he tried me on since feb i had to stop. The xanax is the only one i have stayed on.But i feel worse anxiety, weekness, memory problems constant worry.I dont know where to turn ,I do not wan tto end back in a hospital as they dont do much for u there,Has anyone heard of xanax making you worse.Maybe my anxiety is so controlling me,its getting where i dont feel like doinganything,,Any ideas would be helpful Thanks

Dont ever stop trying to get the meds right. Dont accept, or let a Doc worry you about telling them the reality YOU are experiencing. It is trial and error as Mrgreen says. YOU decide how long that trial will last. Risperdal is heavy stuff, and xanax is cra*.

Stand your ground and get meds changed. Xanax will certainly cause memory problems no doubt. Mrgreen is right benzo's not good for long term, if not brain threatening.

If you are afraid to give your Doc to much work in the 10 minute window you get with him or her you might need a new one.

Maybe you are just used xanax. It isn't doing anything at all for you. It is only a short term med. But too many doctors are willing to leave people on it. I know a good few doctors who are anti xanax. They wouldn't dream of putting a patient on the tablet at all. Its effect is short lived. Meds are trial and error. Some work for some people and don't work for others. Maybe something stronger than xanax. To take over from it. So you won't suffer any withdrawl at all this time round. Then come down to an acceptable dose of the new tablet. In other words the doctor would start you on a strong enough dose so you don't feel any withdrawls at all. Then slowly decrease the amount down to what he or she feels you need to beat your anxiety. Not just about meds though. Would be all about you fighting your anxiety as well. Rivetrol maybe. ( However you spell it ) But that's a benzo too. Might work for you. Might not. And I'm no doctor either.
