When will I start feeling the effects?

I've been taking Teva Venlafixine XR 37.5mg for about a week.

Some people are saying it takes 2-4 weeks to feel its affects, some are saying 1 week.

So far I'm just having horrible side effects. I have to up my dose tomorrow and I feel like crap. I'm in University full time and it's sooo hard to attend class like this. But to me this is all worth it IF the meds start working soon. When will I start feeling better:( I've tried 2 other anti-depressants already.

I am also on Effexer and i love it! I am on 150mg.....yes it takes a while! Did you read the side effects? Sometimes if you read the side affects you think you have them! I am that way i refuse to read them. 37.5 is a very low dose they will bump u up slowely 150mg is a normal dose of that med. Just give it time i know it ***** that it takes so long :( have you talked to a councler are anything like that to talk about your issues with someone. I know when someone told me to go see them i refused because i was thinking to myself why am i going to see someone and talk about this when they have no idea what i am talking about! But really it helps also! I have had anxiety since i was in the 9th grade 14 years old and now im 23 years old. I also missed a whole semester of school because of it. It is hard to push yourself to do anything when you are so anxious and scared to take meds! Do you have anyone around you or a friend you could find in the class just in case you do have anxiety attack i know it always helped for me to have someone around that new about my problem in case i had an attack they could get me out of the class room. Everything will work out dear you just got to be strong and its all about a waiting game. I have let anxiety control my life for to long and i still do because i am unable to drive because of it but im working on driving and getting better i know its going to be along process but i know that im strong and a fighter and i know that you can be to let me know if you need anything. Keep your head up hun it will get better! It only gets worse! Get better soon :)

I am on the same medication.  It will take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to feel the effects from the Effexor.

It can take up to 4-6 weeks. If you are having horrible side effects call the doctor to verify if this is normal and if you should still increase your dosage.  Take care.
