Two herbal meds that have REALLY helped for anxiety

Currently I was moved from 10mg to 20mg on Lexapro, but still having some anxiety.

So, I've been trying these two herbal meds and they have REALLY been working.  Working so well I can't believe it and wanted to share it with you all.

The first is Suntheanine.  I got it at GNC for $19.99 and I take it in the morning.  Do some research...it's the real thing.  The Suntheanine is the most potent and pure form of L-Theanine.  Suntheanine is patented, so look for suntheanine, not L-theanine.

The second is Valerian.  It's make by Nature's Sunshine and I got it online.  I use it for sleep at night, and either it and/or the suntheanine have fixed the morning anxiety issues.

I was pretty skeptical about herbal meds, but there is lots of research behind these so I tried them...and they really are working.  If you were desparate like me to find something to help with anxiety (especially in the morning), you might try this routine.

You could also just use herbal, that way there are no troubles of interaction.  One day when you feel ready to cut down on the other meds, the herbals could keep you feeling good.  Another good one is John's Wort, my father had great success with that instead of medication for depression and it transformed his life.

The secret is to find what works for you.  But when used properly, herbal remedies are great as they are natural and powerful too.

It is important to note that 5-HTP and SamE should NOT be taken concurrently with any SSRI medication....as it can cause "serotonin syndrome".  Just an FYI.

This is a great thread to remind everyone just how important it is to ALWAYS mention to all of your physicians and pharmacists ALL of the medications you are taking, whether it be prescription, herbal, OTC.  There are very real interaction issues.

Make sure that your doctor is aware of these herbal medicines.  It seems like most of us, including me, forget to tell our doctor's when I take things that are over the counter or supplements.  I understand from doctor's that things like herbs CAN have an affect on our blood counts, that make no sense, until a doctor realizes what herbal remedy's you are taking.  It CAN make a difference.

I hope this method keeps working for you. Now that you are up to 20mg of Lexapro, you may find you feel a little better also.  Lexapro does have some anti-anxiety properties in it, but doesn't have enough to stop anxiety attacks in their tracks.  Usually a doctor will prescribe an anti-depressant AND something more for anxiety.

Best of luck to you.
