Wellbutrin SR and PAXIL?

Hi Doctor. I have been taking Paxil for about 6 years. Recently my doctor told me that I could try Wellbutrin, because I have gained lots of weight, have very few energy and have no sexual drive.
I was taking 30 mg of Paxil, then she told me to cut it the next week to 20 mg (one week), and then to 10 mg (one week) and then start with the Wellbutrin SR.I started it last Friday, I was experiencing horrible nausea, Maalox was completely useless. I also had headaches (not anymore) intense anxiety for moments and muscle pain (on back and and abdomen) because I am very tense all the time. Yesterday was the worse of all. Horrible. The nausea was absolutely horrible, and I was so anxious that I felt like I was going to get crazy. And I am afraid that this is just starting.

I took 10 mg of Paxil cause I couldn`t stand it anymore. My questions are:
*Did I stop taking the Paxil very fast?( I`ve heard about people that do it in months to reduce the withdrawal effects).

*Is it safe to take Paxil in a very small dosage for a while (to wean off properly) while taking Wellbutrin? is it dangerous? (I called my doctor but she hasn`t called me back and I don`t know what to do).

*Can I take Zantac or something that can really help me when I have such a bad indigestion? (I just don`t want to mix medicines and not be sure about the effects and interactions).

Hi Marina,

You have reached the member forum for anxiety rather than the expert forum. The folks here are very supportive and helpful but if you are looking for medical advice click on the forums icon then choose expert forums then choose mental health. ( There isn't a seperate one for anxiety)
