I'm new here, and a certified Freak ((*_*))
About two years ago I started to have periods of nausea and sudden vomiting. A few times, I vomited so suddenly that I didn't have time to go to the bathroom, and it went all over the floor and any furniture in range. It was like projectile vomiting of undigested food. Primary dr. ordered tests, first with a scope that went to my stomach. Found an esophageal hernia. Then colonoscopy, just diverticulosis, then swallowed a camera to look at small intestine. which is normal.
Talked to my psychiatrist about it, and he prescribed a couple of medications, one for nausea, another for anxiety (can't recall their names, but if you want to know, I'll find them). What really helped most of the time was switching from Wellbutrin to Celexa. Celexa is an anti-depressant and anxiety med.
I still have nausea/vomiting episodes, usually when I have trouble getting to sleep due to negative thinking and worry.. Can't get to sleep until I vomit. Yuck.
Sorry you feel neglected. Some of us post regularly; others not so much.
As holtw05 said, anxiety can cause a multitude of symptoms. We have discussed this many times here: there will be threads in our archives to back up what I'm saying.
As to your nausea, it certainly can be a symptom of high anxiety....possibly anticipatory anxiety? I get it from time to time, along with a slew of other body issues. Believe lots of gastric problems can be caused by anxiety.
Having said that, I urge you to check out your symptom with a doctor to rule out an organic cause. You know none of us is qualified to give you medical advice, just share our opinions based on our experience.
So...keep posting. We can support you here. Most of us have strategies for dealing with the symptoms of anxiety. Most are also taking a medication as a base to deal with it.
Come back anytime. Good luck.
