I used to believe turkey and milk would help. Recent research indicates that it won't hurt (unless you are lactose intolerant:)), but no solid evidence that tryptophan (the enzyme in both) is that much help. As Sassy says, B vitamins have long been recommended as good for nervous system. A balanced diet with plenty of fiber (fruits and veggies) has long been associated with improved health in several areas. Possibly good for nervous system.
We do know what won't help. Alcohol seems to be a trigger for many who post here. On the other hand there are some who aren't bothered by it. Processed suger can jack up your nervous system....so may want to avoid. Coffee has been shown to mimic panic attacks. So as much as I love my Starbucks, moderation is key when it comes to my cup of java.
If you feel like posting more about why you are asking about foods that help anxiety, please do so. Someone will get back to you.
Yes, try foods that are high in the B vitamins, brewers yeast is a terrific one, and it taste great on cottage cheese, and when put on popcorn, it taste just like cheese.
Also, try to avoid processed meats, these contain a lot of additives and you could be allergic to them, a lot of folks are. Sugar is a no-no too. Have you been checked for low blood sugar? Low blood sugar can cause anxiety big time.
As funny as this may sound, try to drink more water, sometimes our brain cells can get dehydrated and this can cause fear, anxiety and more.
Hope this all helps. I am going to PM you with an article about this.
are you eating properly or not
