Um well my heart rate is usually at 100 when calm but jumps to 120 with panic attacks.
I have had this for over 20 years. It spikes under external stressers, too much caffeine, or if I start running without warming up first. I take Topral daily and it seems to lessen the severity of it. Calming yourself down is the key. Some physical things to do to assist this are:
Heavy deep forced cough.//
Bend over and touch your toes, but be fully relaxed, breath slow.//
Throw cold water on your face and chest, works, but looks weird in public.//
Sit in a lounger, DO NOT LIE DOWN, and relax and think "happy thoughts"
Lastly a gag reflex, force your fingers down your throat, this sometimes does not work as by this point you are in a panic mode.
Hope this helps.
I just had an ultra sound and x-ray on my heart and they found I have heartburn, tachycardia, and hydropneumothorax. I can't even say the last one. Apparently if the hydropheumothorax gets worse they'll have to put a tube in me to drain out the air. I'm really horrified. I have had a lot of anxieties lately but my heart rate is ALWAYS higher than normal..are there are any ways without drugs to curb this
You should be tested for autonomic dysfunction. That can cause anxiety and tachycardia. I've had it since I was 15.

I've been dealing with the same thing. I have anxiety pretty bad. I have been doing really well and just recently got off lexapro. however, stress has thrown me back into it. i was just in the ER yesterday with my pulse being 136. My pulse is usually always up. But i don't think it's ever been that high. i know it's stress. exercise may actually help you. that's what i'm going to do and also lay off of the caffeine.
