Racing thoughts, Depersonalization, Anxiety

Hi,
I had my first panic attack 2 months ago followed by a disabilitating feeling of depersonalization.
For two months I self medicated with 5HTP, vitamines and Omega3s.
Things seemed to have gotten better for a while until last night;
I had extremely fast racing thoughts, unable to fall asleep, when I did I woke up soon after. I was exhausted and yet unable to sleep.
Can anyone relate to my situation? If so, please help.

It not uncommon. More common than you would imagine. I suffer from panic attacks when out. I suffer all round with anxiety. If I sleep, once I wake, that's it, I am awake. Be it 4am, 5am. No matter what the hour. Best thing to do? Try not let it get under your skin. The more frustrated you get about not been able to sleep the more you won't be able to sleep. At times I accept I am awake. Just get up and have a cuppa. Then I might feel wrecked. Sleep will come back to me at some stage as the day goes on. But that can ruin any sleep pattern. Which makes life a big bit awkward. I find now if I listen to the ticking of a clock I drift off easier. No idea why cause I hate clocks. But I try and draw a mental image of this clock ticking away and me drifting off. Does the trick for me. But again I may wake at any time. I always have a radio close at hand. I might turn that on. Instead of getting myself all worked up over not been able to sleep. Sound of the radio might knock you back out. Case of trial and error. Look for something that works for you.
