Yes mammo is right, do not take more than prescribed. There is a very good reason for this.
When I originally started with Panic attacks, ativan worked well. If I felt one coming on I would take one. When I develoved GAD, it didn't help. As you said, every time it would start to wear off I felt bad again. It was a constant rollercoaster. That's how I ended up on Klonopin. It stays steady in your system and doesn't give you highs and lows. It takes much longer to build a tolerance to your dosage and it's a bit easier to withdraw from since it has a longer half-life. Not advocating for Klonopin just sharing my experience. Wish you well in finding the right treatment for you.
I was on this med and as said by the first reply, it is short acting and when it wears off, you start to feel rough symptoms and want to take another. Its a very addictive drug. And that's a fairly high does of 3 mg daily.
Don't take any more than you've been prescribed. You need a longer acting anxiety medication and once you describe how you've been feeling, your doctor will know what to do. Exercise is great for anxiety, keep yourself as busy as you can until Tuesday. I know it's tough, but just keep yourself very busy so Tuesday gets here quickly. Best wishes.
