Thank you Greenlydia I really do appreciate all the info. you have provided!!
Anxiety/panic attacks hit, for the most part, at random. There is no reason not to enjoy a drink or two unless alcohol IS a trigger.....or one of them, at any rate. If you have not had a drink in over a year, have your panic attacks stopped? That would certainly be a good indication that alcohol was at the root.
I'm not trying to diagnose you, I am totally not qualified to do that. I'm glad you will be seeing a therapist who will be able to help you figure out, among other things, what part alcohol plays into your anxiety.
So, good for you MS_C! Being proactive in our own mental health is the only way to go. I wish you the very best and long and anxiety free life.
Peace
Greenlydia
Mine don't come from drinking!! I'm just afraid to get one while I have a drink or two...I have not had a drink in over a year but I would like to enjoy one sometime...I'm going tomorrow to get a referral to see a therapist!!
I hate to be the party pooper, but you are both 30+ years old and you're discussing having panic attacks from drinking.......have either of you considered getting into therapy to find the root cause of your panic, which, apparently, is triggered by alcohol for both of you?
My advice..........either don't drink and avoid those pesky panic attacks, or seek the cause, and most likely the cure, with therapy.
Peace
