Are you sure you're not suffering from depression with secondary anxiety? Wellbutrin would not be the med for the conditions you listed, as it is a stimulating antidepressant. While I would never turn my back on a med that worked -- I mean, if it works, it works, no problem there -- the reason I ask is if you're largely depressed benzos like klonopin can theoretically make you feel more depressed. You'd essentially be taking an up, the wellbutrin, and a down, the klonopin. Just something to discuss with your psychiatrist. You might also consider asking this question on the mental health forum; there's a psychiatrist there who is an expert.
None of us on this forum is qualifed to answer your question as you would like us to. We cannot recommend medications for you, even though there ARE some here who will tell you what to take. The ONLY person you should be discussing this with is your doctor. What we CAN do on this forum is give you our opinions and our personal experiences with these meds. That is all.
There is debate about generics. It has been proven that SOME do not have the same potency as the name brand and some that do. There may be a web site that lists the equivalancy of brand v generic, but I don't know of it personally. Your pharmacist may be able to help you. The PDR (Physcians Desk Referrence) may have a table that list this. You can "play it safe" and just always get name brands, IF you can afford it. After being on those for awhile you could try a generic and see if the effects are the same.
I don't have the answer for you about the WellbutrinXR being any better when combined with Klonopin. I don't know if an extended release dose would be a good or bad addition.
Please discuss these options with your doctor.
Peace
