I did for about 4 weeks but when I went back to the Dr. she had done some talking and we decided since the zoloft had stopped working for me at a high dose that it was not worth the time to try it anymore because the odds werre against me!! Have you tried ZOloft, it is a great drug!!
Hoping it is the answer, didn't you go from Lexapro to Zoloft?
Thanks for the advice, I started at 37.5 and I am at 75 and staying there!! It does make me tired but not as bad as the lexapro did, it makes me feel more alive but not as bad as the prozac did, make sense?? I really really hope this works for me!! I am running out of options!!
I'm glad you're feeling better!
I would give the dose you're on a few weeks (even like 4-5) and then reassess. I'm a firm believer that less is better, if a person can reap the benefits of a med at a lower dose, it's optimal.
Effexor is a bit of a tough medication, it's certainly got a reputation for being tough to come off of for many people, so just keep that in mind. Should you ever decide that you want to discontinue it, you will need a SLOOOOOOW gradual taper.
While Effexor isn't typically a first choice medication for treating anxiety disorders (it's quite stimulating), some people do do well on it for anxiety. It's all about rial and error.
