This is a very old post, so few if anyone but me will see your post.  Sweating can be caused by different things.  As pointed out above, it's a common side effect of antibiotics.  It can be caused by an imbalance in sexual hormones.  You really need to get a diagnosis so you know what you're treating.
Sorry, meant it's a common side effect of antidepressants.

lebezel made one post and that was 6 years ago so it is unlikely you will get a response.

I would like to know if the Botox helped you. It could have been me that you are talking about. I know that 3 of my meds might be contributing to this, but I can't stop 2 of them and I need to find an antidepressant to replace the only medication that I could stop.
I take Synthroid, and that did cause sweating in the beginning, but I sort of got use to it. Then I started Methadone for pain. I have neuritis and peripheral neuropathy and Methadone is the only pain med that even takes an edge off my pain. I am not diabetic, but I have had 3 surgeries on each foot for Plantar Fasciitis and they caused nerve damage.
Lexapro is the antidepressant that I am on and I would like to find something else, because this is one that is listed that can cause excessive hyperhydrosis.
Please help! It is bad enough that I have to put up with constant pain, but the excessive sweating especially of my head neck and face is too much! All I have to do is walk across the room and I start sweating. I am freezing everybody out of the house. We live in Michigan in the summer, but are snow birds in the winter. I am dreading going in a week or two. I use to love it. Now I hate it!

I know it's been a while since your post about the excessive sweating and getting Botox injections. How did that go? Any relief from the sweating?

I have been suffering from hyperhydrosis for 15yrs. It now is getting progressively worse and I'm at my wits end! I only sweat if I'm mildly active. I can sit and read a book all day and I don't sweat at all but god forbid I have to get up to change my bed or vacuum I am dripping wet! I now fear going outside. It can be 0 degrees and I'm all wet. I no longer have any embarrassment, it's just too overwhelming to bother about something that small. My hair is dripping my undergarments are damp and all I want to do is to get home, fling those damp clothes off and sit for about 20mins until it stops pouring and pouring. I cannot live like this. My life is being destroyed!
I sweat mostly from my head. And on the 5th. of Jan. I"m getting botox injections in my scalp!  I am elated!! I don't care what it would take to bring me out of my misery because I can on longer go on in this state I'm now in. I will update my results.
I thought I was alone in this. No one seemed to understand and would poo poo sweating to be such a handicap. Well, they're quite wrong aren't they?

I know exactly what you mean. I have the same problem. I am on alot of meds for lupus, so I think one or more of them is causing it, or maybe it is my lupus doing it, but my doctors just don't seem to think it is important to do anything... I am miserable. I change my clothes two and three times a day. I shower two times a day... I hate it. My husband, bless his heart, put central air conditioning in our home, and I have it set at 68 degrees and I STILL sweat from my head.  (YOu are the first person I read about that sweats from the head, too.)  So, I don't know how to help you, except to say you should talk to your dr. But, I wanted to tell you that you aren't alone... I will pray for you, ok?  Because I know how horrible it is.  I hope you find help.  I hope I find help, too!  Good luck.

And be careful, this happened to me while I was on Wellbutrin, my electrolytes went dangerously low. I was sweating everything out. And the wellbutrin was also an appetite suppressant so that certainly didn't help matters either.....

I'm not saying this will happen to you or that the low sodium/potassium was the wellbutrin alone, although I certainly haven't had any of those things happen since stopping......but it was a factor.
