Anxiety, constant head pressure left side doc says tension headaches

I have been having severe anxiety over my tension headaches I have been having them daily for over a week now went to the doc on Tuesday 1/28/14 an was told tension headaches. It's this dull tight pressure on my heads left side, more so on the back a side of head. I can't stop thinking about it I feel there is something wrong with me like a brain tumor/cancer or a seizure coming on( even though I have no history of seizures). Very scared but I think I might be doing it to myself with my constant worrying an online searches. When I was at the doctor he touched my head an neck an said it was tension headaches and told me to take Tylenol an Advil. Just wondering if any of you guys have gone through the same thing. Even though I was just at the doc's on Tuesday should I go back an get my head scanned?? I feel like when I worry less I feel it less. And if anyone has had this problem how long was it before your  headache disappeared. Any help is welcome thanks guys

People with health anxiety with convince them they have whatever it is they are focused on.  (it's what i do too)  Being 22 makes it even more likely it is just tension head aches. Stay off the internet looking for symptoms. You went to your doctor who is better than any google site you will find.

Thanks for the replies guys. And no I'm not currently on any anxiety treatment I just recently started feeling I had anxiety problems an then this head pressure came along an made me even more anxious that I had a serve health problem. I told the doc about my being constantly anxious about it (even had a panic attack this pass Sunday while searching symptoms told him that too) he said try and relax but it just seems so hard lately this is constantly on my mind.

I have gone through the same exact thing.  Except it was closer to my temple, only left side.  Has been happening for over 3 years. I would stay off the internet if I were you, it will only feed your anxiety.  Trust your doctors, if it is still a concern you could get a second opinion.

You feel like when you worry less you feel it less. So, that says it's most likely tension headaches. These are very common when you have anxiety and stress. You might want to try putting a warm cloth on the back of your neck. It can help relax the muscles.
Are you in any kind of treatment for your anxiety?
