Help!! I'm 6 wks pregnant and I have been on 1 mg klonopin for 3 yrs. they decreased my dose to .5 mg then after 1 wk told me to stop and start taking buspar. I went for about 4 days and could not handle the smtoms of withdrawl. They started me back on .25 mg of klonopin and Wellbutrin. The symptoms have seem to worsen and my anxiety is through the roof. The heart palpitations are unbareable, I have not eaten in 2 days and feel as though I'm going crazy. Will this stop and when?? I'm to the point where I wonder if I need to be hospitalized but then I get anxiety thinking they can't do anything for me because I'm pregnant. One thing I have been doing is taking Benadryl every 4-6 hrs to sleep away the side effects..is that wrong? Someone please help!!
You are okay. Anxiety will cause your HR to increase...it's a normal physiological response.
It's hard, but just busy yourself as much as possible so you're not focusing on your pulse.
Also, 2 days late is really quite insignificant....a million things can affect your cycle...one BIG one being anxiety! If you haven't gotten your period after a week or so, then get a 1st response home pregnancy test, just to be sure. But, honestly, that really isn't "late", so try not to worry!
Hang in there!
Your pulse is still within an acceptable range. You can also have a high pulse rate and your blood pressure can be normal. The more you focus on it and take it, the higher it will get. Find something to take your mind off your pulse whether it be meditate or whatever it takes. It will come down. You will not have a heart attack. When I was pregnant my resting pulse was 130 and if I got up to walk around it would sky rocket in to the high 190"s and I would feel sick. I was that way for 9 mnths and the cardiologist just told me to be sure to sit down when I felt winded. You can splash very ice cold water on your face and it almosts resets your heart beat and can usually slow it down. Go in and see your doctor and make sure you are all well.
