how to calm myself down

Sometimes I get anxious and will get nervous and I have to calm myself down. This doesn't happen alot. Just once in awhile. Ex. Getting my hair cut. I find sitting there not moving uncomfortable and I will get a little nervous and will have to calm myself down.

How can I stop getting nervous over these little things. Any techniques?

i totally agree with cj ive had concelling and learnt to breath my anxiety away.  try to slow your breathing down and breath from down low in your tummy not up in your chest as you slow your breathing take note of the symptoms improving. eg ok i was at a 10 outa 10 now im at 8 outa 10. dont fight the feeling more go with it like your riding a wave you will have a peak but it will fade eventually until u feel yourself again

In my experience with anxiety, there are many things one can do.  First, do you have access or are you in counseling for your anxiety?  In my opinion, this is the best piece of advice I can give you for long term relief from this.  For me, when I feel my anxiety coming on, I actually welcome it and remind myself that is just exactly what it is....anxiety.  While it is uncomfortable, I know it is going to pass and it will not hurt me.  There are various breathing techniques, thought patterns, etc, but for me, just going to learn about it through counseling gave me the tools and methods to confront and deal with it....keep us posted!
