I was on Lexapro for about a year and a half. I didn't notice anything until about two weeks into it, but it did help stablize my moods a lot, so I was more receptive to trying to get through my day. It didn't do anything at all for the physical symptoms.
My brother and sister were on it and pretty much said the same things.
After that year and a half, I stopped taking mine because it was giving me some really out there dreams. I guess another reason was that I really hate medication.
did lexapro help u with physical symtoms.. like nerves muscle twiching?
I love Lexapro...have been on it for years...strayed once to try Cymbalta which made me suicidal. I'm 39 and will never stop taking lexapro again. I take 10 mg in spring, summer and fall and 20 in winter for Seasonal Affective Disorder. I sometimes supplement with Ativan to help me during really bad anxiety attacks. I suffer from chronic pain without an answer and am going through the motions getting tests done and such so am starting to be more anxious but I will not switch from Lexapro as I know I'd be over the top without it.
I highly recommend it and I am a person who HATES meds. :)
