new zoloft side effect...

ok been on zoloft 50 mg for about 5 weeks now...had the usual beginning sides...but most of them have subsided...however,this week ive had a headache most of the time..and today at work i started feeling dizzy...vision blurred and i saw squiggly shapes and lines in my field of vision...then i got that displaced feeling that usually comes with a panic attack..i sat down and it went away excepy my headache is worse and i feel tired...i was feeling good before this occurred....does this sound like a weird zoloft reaction????

I have to agree with greenlday. It sounds like occular migraine. I have had these also and for me I usually have a headace for a couple days before. On the day of the vision zigzags and or blindness I  get very weak.

The headaches I have are not "debilitating" either..........in fact, sometimes I don't get a headache at all. This is actually not all that uncommon. I have what was diagnosed as "occular migraines," the main symptom being not the headache but the bizzare "light show" and temporary blindness during the prodrome phase.
Your symptoms are similar in many ways and I still recommend you see a neuro to rule out any other problem.
After 5 weeks on the Zoloft any side effects should have abated by now, so I don't think it's the cause of your headaches.
I don't often recommend anyone Google anything, but you might want to give "Occular Migraines" a quick look and decide if my therory is, perhaps, just more than interesting.
I wish you the best and hope you'll let me know what you decide to do.
Peace

No, actually your symptoms are nearly classic for migraine. I have migraines and every single symptom you mentioned, I get as well. (I am also on Zoloft)
A slight headache, feeling dizzy, that sense of derealization, which is also very common in panic attacks...........but the dead giveaway for suggesting these are most likely migraines was the "blurred vision and squiggly shapes and line in my field of vision." Once this "prodrome" passes, (usually about 20 minutes) the headache comes on or gets worse. The end result for me is total exhaustion.
I strongly suggest you see a neurologist for a diagnosis. I might warn you that more than likely they will send you for an MRI to rule out any organic problems.
They have excellent medications now for migraines and some of them even work!
Oh, and migraines can be a lot like panic attacks in that they can hit you out of the blue. You're feeling perfectly fine one second and the next you have a migraine.
Please see a neuro and let me know what he/she says, OK?
I wish you the best
