it also takes a hour to feel atvins as you know this;;;
ask ur doc..im sure he be ok with it..not manny people on here can tell u whst to do..
I took xanax for several years,,it felt like a bandaide to have one in my purse..just incase...I was switched to Klonopin..as above poster,,,it is totally different..1 mg 3x day..am..1in afternoon and at bedtime..keeps a steady flow in your system..I had to take 1/2 xanax here and there when making the switch..your Dr should advise you..but for me it was the best thing..I dont even fear having a panic attack anymore,,feel calm at all times unless something of reality not irrational fears happens ..like baby crying..an almost car accident etc..so you will respond correctly if someone on a bike pulls infront of car etc...I had a major phobia of driving cause thats when my first panic happened
now Ican drive far with no worries..thats lije a miricle to me...no med is right for everyone...but do read up on this and talk to your Doctor.
best wishes

I hate to do this to you, but you MUST telephone the doc who prescribed that to you and ask him those questions. This is because you don't want someone on here to advise you concerning medication dosages, we don't want to hurt you. Me, I take Klonopin .5mg three times a day for my panic disorder, but I've had it for 10 years, and the dose was increased slowly. I also went through a year of behavioral therapy to overcome the triggers of the intense fear that is panic disorder. But in general, I can say if you freak out one day, it will very likely not hurt you to take an extra pill at that moment. But do not do it more than that one time without consulting your physician, and do not drive anywhere or do anything work-wise whilst you take the extra pill... you need to be at home where you can crash.
