Charles Linden talks about how we need to reprogram the part of the brain (can't remember the name just now) that deals with our anxiety. We "taught" ourselves to get anxious in situations which are not scary, etc...like, for example: going to the mall. We have to change the threshold that causes our anxiety. Just like a pain threshold..some people can stand more pain than others,,,they have a higher threshold. Well, we have to put our threshold back to normal. That is by facing things and doing things that we are afraid to do that lack reason (eg: driving a car alone). Also, he does not like to call anxiety a panic or anxiety disorder. He said there is nothing wrong with us both physically and MENTALLY. we just have to retrain that part of the brain to act normal again. He also said there is no such thing as panic disorder. It is all related to anxiety...without anxiety, you would not reach the worst state of anxiety....the panic attack. So controling the anxiety will rid us of the attacks.
