A few questions for you. Does this "shaking" you speak of happen often, even without the presence of feeling nervous? Or, only when you are in high stress/anxious situations? If the latter, then of course it makes sense that you were suffering from a high level of anxiety (which, in the dentist's chair, is pretty common!). If you are shaking or trembling without the presence of obvious anxiety (when you are feeling calm and fine), then it probably wouldn't hurt to have your doctor do a work-up, just to make sure there isn't a medical cause.
Shaking/trembling is a very common symptom of anxiety. I have a HORRID fear of the dentist and can tell you that I shake like a leaf when in that chair. Even for a routine cleaning!
The other thing you have to determine is, if it IS looking like an anxiety response, you have to decide how severe your anxiety is, and if it is affecting your life negatively. If you simply get nervous in anxiety producing situations (like the dentist), then that is a normal stress response and nothing to worry about. If you are feeling anxious frequently, in the absence of an anxiety-producing event/trigger, then it may be time to address the anxiety with a mental health professional.
