side effect

I'm wondering if any one has ever experienced the side effect of body twitches when they started taking medication?
I don't mean small twitches, it feels like my muscle is jerking it's scary. Alot of you are telling me to ask my psychiatrist about any questions, but she works in the emerg at the hospital. I am only seeing her short-term and she doesn't take calls. I don't have a family doctor either so I have no where to turn :(

Anyways, I'm on 150mg of effexor for the past 2 weeks. The psychiatrist said I have to keep adding one more tablet of 37.5mg every 5 days until I reach 225mg. But I don't want to increase my dose because I'm starting to feel worse now.

I had no side effects from effexor, but Prozac caused unbelievable side effects.
Among them were strong twitches and jerks. I actualy broke my nose when I was sleeping and my knee jerked up and my head jerked down! I would suddenly wake up after a strong jerk threw me on the floor or when laying down I would suddenly find myself jerked to a sitting position. I also had night terrors, auditory hallunications, heat stroke (I stopped sweating), ticks, RLS, tremors so bad I could not get a spoon to my mouth or write my name.......
The doctor said they would go away, but I stopped the medication since the side effects were worse then the anxiety.

Go to drugs.com. It lists side effects that even the doctors do not know about from personal experience.

Yes, I had the same thing when I was on Effexor. I would say not to increase your dose if you don't want to. Usually a Dr will want you to stay on the same dose for 4 to 6 weeks before any changes are made, but not all the time.
Is there any way you can start seeing a Psychiatrist or find a family Dr at least? How are you going to get refills and see how your doing if she works in the ER and does'nt take calls?
I personally did not like Effexor because there were way to many side effects for me. It works great for some people though.  Remar
